Welcome to A Child’s Delight Learning Center! We are pleased that you have chosen us to care for your child. Our main goal is to assist you in meeting your childcare needs by providing a safe, nurturing environment where children develop positive self-esteem, self-confidence and become excited about exploring their world.
If this is your child’s first experience in a school-like setting, please let him/her know what to expect. On the first day, plan to come early so you can spend a few minutes with your child at the center. Assure your child that you will return and tell him/her good-bye before you leave. Many children cry when parents leave the first few days, but our staff is prepared to give them special attention. Please let us know if you need help separating from your child. You may call us anytime during the day to ask about your child. Parents are encouraged to take part in the classroom or join your child for lunch. If you have talents or customs that you would like to share with the children let the Lead Teacher know so you could schedule a time for sharing.
Enrollment in the A Child’s Delight Learning Center is open to any child, provided the Center can meet the needs of that child. Admission is granted without discrimination in regard to sex, race color, religion, national or ethnic origin, or presence of any physical, mental, or sensory handicap.
We have full-time positions (M-F, over 5 hours per day) and when we have space available we gladly accept part-time students.
The A Child’s Delight Learning Center reserves the right to dismiss a family after a two week written warning for reasons of non-cooperation, delinquency in payment of fees, or inability of child or parent to adjust to the Center’s programs as determined by the Director or Program Director.
Occasionally, families move, change jobs, or incur a change that may necessitate withdrawing from our program. Withdrawal from our programs requires a two-week written notice, in conjunction with the month or half month tuition.
All currently enrolled families must reapply each year for continued enrollment in the summer and fall of that year. A non-refundable application fee is due upon enrollment. All currently enrolled children or their siblings are given priority status until June 15.
Limitations of the Law: The State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services requires that no child remain in childcare longer then ten hours per day unless the parent’s work/commute schedule necessitates otherwise. Arrangements, in writing, will be submitted to our State Licenser for approval.
Children are not to remain in the Center past closing. Please allow enough time to gather your child’s belongings and sign out prior to closing. If you are certain you will be late please inform the Center. DSHS requirement states that if a child is left at the Center for more than one hour after closing time without communication from a parent or guardian or emergency pick-up person, the Center must call the Child Protective Services office in order for them to come and take custody of the child under the child abandonment law.
